About Surgery Department

Department of surgery consists of three units run by three senior professors. The head of the department is Professor Dr.Ahmed Sayeed FCPS, (Surgical oncologist, general and laparoscopic surgeon)-Pink unit; Professor Dr.Imtiaz Ahmed FCPS (general and laparoscopic surgeon)-Olive unite and Professor Dr Anwarul Azim FCPS (general and laparoscopic surgeon)- run the Purple unit.
        Other doctors of the department are- one Associate Professor of general surgery, two Assistant professor of pediatric Surgery, a no of registrars, resident doctors and Internees.
        Patients are attended in 3 stapes on call. The 1st on call- resident doctors, 2nd on call- registrars and 3rd on call are Professors and associate professor.
        Other than several no of cabins, some semi cabins, there are 2 male and 2 female surgical wards for patient admission; our each ward has 14 beds.
        Other then common instruments our advanced OT is well equipped with 2 laparoscopic unites, advanced electric as well as ultrasonic cutting- dissecting unites, and all types of stapling devices.    

Our work is divided into-  
�    Academic activities
o    For undergraduate students - daily theoretical lecture and clinical classes in ward.
o    For Internees and postgraduate trainees � weekly morning sessions on every Tuesday.
o    Organizing CME programs quarterly in a year
o    Attending our internal, national and international seminars.
�    Regular OT management.
