About Gynae & Obs Department

Gynae Deptt. bears almost 20% share of total hospital. There are three units in the department, each one headed by Prof / Associate Prof & staffed by consultants, Asst Prof, Registrars & Resident Doctors. The hospital plays an important role in training the post-graduate students for F.C.P.S., DGO & MCPS which is recognized by BCPS. The Medical College has opened the MBBS course since 1999. The department runs a diverse range of indoor, outdoor and emergency services obstetrics and gynaecology. The department is adequately equipped and capable of serving the patients roun the clock on emergency basis inclusive of blood transfusion, laboratory and anesthetic facilities. The outdoor department deals with both gynaecological cases and ante-natal clinics apart from providing evening outdoor facilities. It also provides infertility and menopause clinic and also oncology clinic. The department also runs a Family Planning service to deal with the different temporary and permanent methods of contraception.
