About Urology Department

Holy Family Red crescent Hospital was established in 1953. This hospital was famous for general surgery. Diagnostic cystoscopy and common open urological surgery were done by general surgeons since 1978 till 1993. In 1994 Urology started as a separate department. All routine endo-urological and open urological operations were done regularly. Holy family red crescent medical college was established in july 2000, and urology department has been included as an independent unit. This is a dedicated Department taking care of all types of urological surgery including female urology and paediatric urology. Total dedicated beds for urology is 20, in addition to unlimited number of cabin beds. This is a good center for teaching, training and practicing Urology in Bangladesh. This center is recognized for post-graduate training in Urology by Dhaka University and Bangladesh college of physician and surgeons.(BCPS).
