Hostel Facilities 

Hostel facilities for the girls are available here. There are 75 rooms fully Air-Conditioned for the accommodation of above 400 students. All the rooms are well furnished with chair, Tables & cot for every student. The well decorated and well ventilated hostel is fully equipped. There is a large dining room with all modern facilities. 

 

Library

The library is very spacious. Fully Air-Conditioned and well furnished. There is one reading table. Twenty reading desks, eighteen shelves. One display shelve in the library room. Individual reading desks for 200 students, four separate arrangement for teaching staffs. The library has computer with broad band Internet connection which can be accessed by students and teachers. 

 

Skill Lab

Throughout the medical world, simulated labs are being used for clinical skills development. The newly designed and furnished clinical skills dry lab at Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College is situated in the college premises; we are happy to announce that HFRCMC has the latest facilities with many more to be added soon. Alongside clinical teaching, students from the third year onwards are to have rotational placement in the dry lab. Here, with the aid of our experienced faculty and simulators, we are confident that our student will gain competent clinical skills.

Guidelines and practice manuals will be distributed to the students during their rotation to ensure that by the time they are newly graduated doctors their clinical skills will be of an international standard caliber.

 

The dry lab contains the following facilities:

1.    Clinical training material: The Lab contains many videos, audio-visual simulators, models, manikins etc. It is also equipped to utilize simulated and real patients for student training.

2.    Multi-Purpose Room: A multiple purpose room that can be used for teaching, training and workshops with --- seats and audiovisual aid and IT equipment.

In addition to the available models, simulation models of eye, ENT, orthopaedics and many more are to be acquired soon.

We are happy to announce that a 3 D virtual dissection lab is to be our latest acquisition; this will be valuable asset for our preclinical students.

We hope that the HFRCMC Dry lab will be in invaluable teaching centre for our students.

 

Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital

Holy Family Hospital (HFH) was established in 1953. It is located at 1, Eskaton Garden Road, Ramna, Dhaka-1000, Bangladesh. It was renamed as Holy Family Red Cross Hospital in 1971. It was again renamed as Holy Family Red Crescent Hospital in 1984. Finally in the year 2000 it was named as Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital (HFRCMCH). It is a modern hospital with 750 bed, Free bed 75 & Bed Occupancy 70%. The hospital is run by Professors, Consultants, Medical Officer and auxiliary staffs. There is a Holy Family Nursing College attached to the hospital. The medical services include the department of Emergency having 24 hours service with observation facilities, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiology, Nephrology with modern dialysis facility, Neuromedicine, ICU, NICU, Endocrinology with outdoor diabetic centre, Gastroenterology with Endoscopy, Psychiatry, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Paediatric Surgery, Eye, E.N.T, Neurosurgery, Urology, Orthopaedics, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Radiology & imaging including CT scan & MRI, Ultrasonography, Radiotherapy, Pathology and Oncology etc.

Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital has a well equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) & Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with latest equipments, skilled and well-trained staff. On the 2nd floor 5 new Operation Theaters (OT) are now in full operation in addition to 2 OTs in the ground floor. The new OTs are equipped with latest equipments including a modern image intensifier with C Arm and an advanced operating microscope. The outdoor is equipped with central AC for the comfort of the patients. A specialized Clinic, Name of Holy Family Specialized Clinic (Open for all) will be operational very soon.

The Outpatient Department having facilities with consultancy service remains open for morning and evening shifts. The charges are very competitive for the affluent people while every poor patient has access to treatment free or at a minimum cost. The hospital has several contractual agreements with different agencies, organizations for treatment of their employees.

This hospital has a good system for fire control, central announcement system exit channels. We ensure electricity by own generator system. For effective communication with the on call doctors' sufficient mobile phones have been provided to the duty doctors. It also has a computerized central register for the patients to find them out quickly.  The hospital has low cost (20 taka) outpatient services for the poor patients on every working day.
